Who is eligible to participate in the Guardian National Championship?

 Goaltenders in the 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 graduation years. There is a separate event for men and for women, held during the same week.

If I’m a player and haven’t received an invite how do I get nominated?

Fill out the online application and include your high school coach and club coach contact information. The selection board will review your file, and it is done on a rolling admission basis.

If I’m a coach, how do I nominate one of my goalies?

Fill out the player nomination form. Our selection board will reach out to you regarding your candidate.

How many goaltenders are selected?

Approximately 18-22 goaltenders per graduating year are selected.  90 goaltenders per gender is the maximum number allowed at the National Championship.

FAQs for participants

Will you be providing food for the goalies?

We will not be providing food . There will be on-site food available for purchase at the Spooky Nook facility.

Do you provide transportation to the facility?

No, goalies are responsible for their own transportation to and from the facility. Directions can be found HERE.

Is lodging included with the player fee?

No, lodging is not included with the player fee. Hotel options are provided HERE. Families are responsible for their goalies when they leave Spooky Nook each night.

What time should I get to the fields?

Girls: Player Check in is Monday, July 27th, in the morning.

Boys: Player check in is Tuesday July 28th, in the late morning/afternoon.

A more specific player check in time will be emailed to all participants closer to start dates!

Who will be shooting?

Guardian Sports hires college level shooters to shoot in the reactionary part of the championship.  Shots on goal is just one component of the overall ratings being accumulated throughout the event.

What surface are the fields? Are the fields inside or outside?

Spooky Nook is an indoor artificial turf facility.

What should I do to prepare for the event?

All participants should email any potential colleges they are interested in and let them know you will be participating. Players can follow up by providing uniform numbers to the coaches once assigned.

Will there be apparel for purchase?

 Yes, Guardian Sports will have a variety of apparel available for purchase.

What is your refund policy?

All refund requests must be emailed to the event organizers 60 days prior to the event start date. A refund minus a $65.00 administration fee will be issued for cancelations made by email request 60 days prior to the event. NO refunds will be issued for any request made within 60 days of the event start date. This policy is inclusive of all injuries that may occur within the 60 day prior to the start date. However, if a doctor’s note can be provided, event organizers may issue a 50% credit towards a future program or an event minus the $65.00 administration fee. NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED DUE TO WEATHER RELATED POSTPONEMENT OR CANCELLATIONS.
